Our Story

Esperance Honey is dedicated to preserving and enhancing the relationship between humans and the natural world and will continue on this mission over coming years.

Our close relationship with the natural world starts in the hive, through our hands-on approach to bee care and honey harvesting.

A small team of apiarists led by Kevin Macneall, Esperance Honey is based in the beautiful, remote coastal town of Esperance, Western Australia. Starting as a backyard operation in 2000 with just a single hive transferred from the wall in Kev’s house, we now have over 500 hives in honey production and 300 hives dedicated to our ongoing breeding program.

Throughout the year, we move our honeybees to the best sites on both public and private lands across the Goldfields-Esperance region and WA’s south-west to make use of our landscape’s diverse natural resources. We showcase a range of seasonal and site-specific honeys, which vary year-to year.

Our distinctive sites, many of which have been largely untouched by humans for decades, allow us to offer some of the most pure and uncontaminated varietal and site-specific honeys in the world. We extract the honeys as naturally as possible; unprocessed and raw, their natural biological properties remain intact. They are a true reflection of nature and all the health benefits that natural honey has to offer.
